What is SAP Business AI?
It's the AI SAP builds into its own applications, plus the tools to build your own. It covers features embedded in S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba and the CX suite, the Joule assistant, Joule Assistants and agents that carry out multi-step work and the Business AI Platform for custom agents. It runs on your SAP data, inside the roles and approvals you already have.
What SAP Business AI funding opportunities are available?
SAP's Business AI Partner-Led Adoption Incentive offers eligible organisations funding support of up to €100,000 for approved AI implementation projects. The programme includes four packages: Adoption, Launch, Performance and Enterprise, supporting the deployment of generally available SAP AI agents, custom Joule Studio agents and SAP Build pro-code applications.

Funding supports approved partner-led implementation services and is not paid directly to customers. Nominations close on 31 December 2026 and approved projects must be completed by 31 March 2027, subject to SAP approval, eligibility and funding availability.
How can my organisation qualify for SAP Business AI funding?
Eligibility generally depends on your existing SAP subscriptions, proposed AI use case and the programme's commercial requirements. Organisations with qualifying SAP Business AI subscriptions may be eligible, while new customers may qualify through an eligible SAP cloud services agreement.

SAP reviews and approves participating customers and proposed projects. FAIR can help assess your SAP environment, identify suitable AI opportunities and explore the next steps with SAP.

Do we need S/4HANA Cloud to use it?
Not always, but it helps. Many embedded features and most Joule agents need a recent S/4HANA Cloud release (public or private edition) or another SAP cloud product. If you're still on ECC, we'll show you what you can use today through SAP BTP, and what a move to the cloud would unlock.
How is Joule different from Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT?
Joule works inside SAP. It can read live SAP data and complete SAP transactions with your existing security roles. General assistants like ChatGPT can't do that safely. Copilot is strong across email, documents and Teams, and the two can work together, so people can reach SAP from Copilot. Plenty of organisations end up using both.
Are SAP's AI agents ready to use now?
Some are. SAP's catalogue currently marks most of its agents as available only to customers in its Early Adoption Care program, with a smaller set generally available. Where the agent you need isn't available to you yet, we can build it now on SAP's platform. In the discovery workshop we confirm what's available for your products and release.
What does it cost?
Some SAP Business AI features are included in your cloud subscription. Premium features and agents use SAP AI units, which are charged by consumption. We model the likely AI unit cost for each use case before you commit, and we'll tell you if SAP's adoption incentive could fund part of the work.
Is our data safe?
SAP Business AI runs within SAP's cloud with your existing access controls. SAP says customer data isn't used to train the shared models. We add governance on top: who can use each agent, what it's allowed to do, when a person must approve, and a full audit trail.
Can you build agents specific to our business?
Yes. We build Joule Skills and custom agents in Joule Studio and on SAP BTP, connected to your SAP and non-SAP systems. Our Joule work for McGrathNicol won the SAP ANZ 2026 Partner Award for Innovation and AI.
We're in a regulated industry. Can we use AI safely?
Yes, if safety is designed in from the start. We review data privacy, regulatory obligations and access controls before anything is built, apply SAP's AI ethics guidelines, and keep a person in the loop for decisions that matter. Utilities, financial services and government organisations usually start with lower-risk use cases, such as finance operations and internal service, before moving to anything customer-facing.
How big is the discovery phase?
As small as it can be while still being useful. We pick a few priority areas, such as finance operations or procurement, rather than trying to map AI across the whole enterprise at once. A workshop gives you a ranked shortlist quickly. If you need a board-ready plan with target architecture and a roadmap, we run a fixed-scope AI strategy engagement instead.
What if SAP doesn't have an agent for our use case?
Then we build one. We design and build custom agents in Joule Studio and on SAP BTP. They work from your data, connect SAP and non-SAP systems, and are governed like SAP's own agents. If SAP later releases an agent that covers the same ground, we'll help you decide whether to switch, keep yours or combine the two.
