AUTOMATING COMPLEX PRM AND MATERIALS PROCESSES TO DRIVE EFFICIENCY AND CONTROL

Spicers partnered with FAIR Consulting Group to transform highly manual PRM and materials creation processes into a streamlined, automated workflow using SAP BTP. Previously, these processes involved up to 70 steps for PRM and 361 steps for materials creation, heavily relying on Excel and email, resulting in inefficiencies, delays and increased risk of errors.

FAIR implemented SAP Build Process Automation to extract and process data directly from emails, seamlessly integrating with SAP ECC to automate PRM and materials creation. SAP Build Work Zone was introduced to enable structured approvals and provide a unified user interface, while automated notifications ensured timely decision-making. Secure connectivity between SAP BTP and on-premise SAP ECC was established using Cloud Connector, ensuring reliable and compliant data exchange.

The new solution provides real-time visibility into process performance through dashboards and KPIs, enabling better control and faster decision-making. By eliminating manual data entry and reducing dependency on key individuals, Spicers improved data accuracy, reduced operational risk and significantly increased team productivity.
