IMPLEMENTING COMPLIANT ELECTRONIC INVOICING ACROSS BELGIUM AND ITALY

With electronic invoicing becoming mandatory across more countries, Zespri needed to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining business continuity. Existing manual invoice processes created compliance risks, processing delays and additional effort for finance and tax teams. Country-specific technical and legislative requirements also demanded tailored localisation without increasing operational complexity.

FAIR delivered a unified SAP-based electronic invoicing solution combining SAP DRC Cloud Edition, SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP S/4HANA to automate end-to-end invoice processing. In Belgium, FAIR implemented customer and supplier invoice localisation, secure connectivity and compliance orchestration within tight regulatory timelines, with capacity to process more than 300 electronic documents per month.

For Italy, FAIR designed the solution to accommodate a forecast transaction volume increase of over 400% across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The implementation automated invoice submission, validation and status tracking through Italy's SDI platform, with statutory archiving enabled through an SAP Integration Suite integration with EDICOM.

The resulting platform provides Zespri with a scalable compliance framework that simplifies future country localisations, reduces manual processing and supports evolving global electronic invoicing requirements.
